BioTrainer General Information

How Do I Wear The BioTrainer?
For best results, the unit should be attached to your belt or at the waistband of your pants or trousers at the crease line. The unit should be in a horizontal position, parallel to the ground, to ensure accurate readings.

What Is The BioTrainer Reversible Display?
To make it easy for you to easily read the data on the display, the unit has a hinged cover panel that you can flip up without having to remove the unit from your belt. When you open the panel, the display will automatically reverse allowing you to simply look down and read the data.

Please Note: The panel must be securely fastened after opening it (listen for the click); otherwise it will not accurately track your movement.

What Is The Power Source for the BioTrainer?
The BioTrainer runs on a 3 Volt Lithium battery. These types of batteries are found in watches and calculators. You can purchase this type of battery at any store. (CVS, Wal-Mart, etc)

Does The BioTrainer Calculate Caloric Intake?
No.

Why Do You Only Input Your Weight Into the BioTrainer?
All other devices such as pedometers, heart rate monitors, exercise watches and so forth, require other information to be inputted; height, age, gender, etc. This is the wonder of the BioTrainer technology. By only inputting weight, it measures the body’s OVERALL physical activity, which in this case – height and age does not matter. Please click here to view the Clinical Study.

Will the BioTrainer Calculate Base Metabolic Rate (BMR)?
No. Metabolic burn is associated with the calories that are burned via our internal body functions, such as, heart rate, intestinal activity, and the body’s organs that move. However, the BioTrainer Monitoring System does calculate BMR.

The BioTrainer accurately measures caloric burn. In tandem, caloric burn is directly associated with the body’s physical activity, not metabolic burn. However, our Monitoring System will utilize the Harris Benedict Formula to calculate a person’s BMR. The Harris Benedict Equation is a prevalent formula that uses your BMR and then applies an activity factor to determine your total daily energy expenditure (calories).

Will the BioTrainer Measure Resistance?
No. The BioTrainer will not measure a person’s resistance. For example when someone is riding a bike - the BioTrainer will only measures the bodies activity. In the case of this exercise, the unit was measuring a person’s legs moving up and down. The BioTrainer is not an effective tool for weight training or bike riding. The BioTrainer’s principle purpose is to measure “daily lifestyle activity.” It is however the perfect tool for all aerobic exercises.

Can the BioTrainer be worn while swimming?
No. The BioTrainer is not to be immersed in water as it will damage the unit.

Why Does The BioTrainer Calculate Activity Units?
Many people cannot relate to calories; therefore, we use activity units as a replacement. This is simply a methodology, as in fact activity units do correlate to calories. Please click here to read about activity units in the Clinical Study.

Further, as the BioTrainer will enter the educational market, kids never relate to calories, but do relate to activity. Therefore, the unit can be set to simply display activity units or calories.

What is the “Move to Burn” Campaign?
This is a 28-day challenge to burn more calories each week and advance to a new level. You may do this challenge on your own or you may form a team.

What is included in the free 30-day trial period when I purchase a BioTrainer?
The BioTrainer Monitoring System™ and The BioTrainer Nutritional Program™ are both components of the BioTrainer Subscription Program™ which is free for 30 days. Approximately 3 days before your trial period ends, you will be sent an email, notifying you that your 30-day trial period is ending. Does The Nutritional Program Differ From Other Food Diary Programs?
Yes. The biggest difference with all of the other programs on the market is that the others are simply a calorie/carb/protein food journal which allows the user to record only their food consumption, whereas the BioTrainer Nutritional Program is a micro-nutrient based program (Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B12, etc.) and is far beyond just journaling.

The BioTrainer Nutritional Program utilizes a vast array of advanced algorithms that help the user design meals that conform to the standards published by the Institute of Medicine. This functionality is lacking in all other such programs along with every other nutrition package/program that we have evaluated to-date.

In brief, The BioTrainer Nutritional Program is the most sophisticated Nutritional Program available today.
